DEVELOPING A WISER WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND PERSONAL WELL-BEING

Working with others can, at times be stressful and demanding, the way we deal with these stresses can sometimes result in a negative environment, inappropriate behaviours and hurt feelings. We can all benefit from taking some time away from the workplace thinking about how to make our working lives and the lives of our colleagues more positive and satisfying – we all need to work together, how can we achieve our goals, get more out of our work and improve our working rlationships? This session will give you and your colleagues an opportunity to explore the skills required to keep well at work and discuss and develop some effective personal strategies.

The programme will cover:

  • What is a Wiser Working environment?
  • Developing well-being at work
  • An effective team is one which…
  • Analysing our own team – what we do, what works and what does not
  • Exploring our rights, responsibilities and professionalism
  • Sustainable behaviour for the team worker – skills that work
  • Interpersonal skills – communicating for a positive environment
  • Handling conflict with assertion
  • Recognising the symptoms of stress
  • Strategies for keeping ourselves well
  • Developing team solutions
  • Valuing each other
  • A personal analysis and action plan

This session is for you – if you spend time thinking about your work before you attend it could enable you to get more out of the day.

You may want to ask yourself some questions, such as:

  • How do I feel about my work?
  • What is good about my work?
  • What causes me to get stressed at work?
  • What can I do to improve the environment?
  • What can others do to support me more?
