A DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME FOR SENIOR TRAINEE CONSULTANTS – PAEDIATRICS

Good leadership is about making performance happen.  Leadership is effective when it enables both the team and the leader to be effective in the short, medium and long term: a successful leadership locus has a people-based focus.  This programme has been designed to support new leaders, developing both their confidence and competence by providing the fundamental tools to enable them to achieve their objectives in a positive, resilient and, ultimately, sustainable way.  The skills explored are generic, transferable and practical.  Sylvia Vacher, your trainer, has worked with both the university sector and the NHS and looks forward to meeting you.

  • The communication conundrum
  • Recognising the adult voice – learning the language of leadership
  • Assertiveness – Developing dynamic dialogues
  • Conflict and challenge: confound or cooperate?
  • The leader as coach – leading with ease and impact
  • TOP Coach – an exploration of the coach/leader context

DAY TWO:

  • Delegation for empowerment and effect

  • The resilient leader – developing sustainable behaviours

  • Importance over urgency
  • Tackling our time wasters

DAY THREE (HALF DAY)

  • Review of practice – reflection and consolidation
  • Maintaining the momentum – communicating through challenge and change
  • Co-coaching for support and success

Objectives Training and Development was set up by Sylvia Vacher MA BA(Hons) MCIPD FAETC in 1989 to: “Provide training and development services, for both individuals and organisations, enabling them to identify and achieve their objectives in a positive, healthy and fulfilling way” Sylvia believes that the way to achieve this is by identifying and developing Sustainable Behaviours and encouraging Wiser Working at an individual, team and corporate level.
