DEVELOPING NEGOTIATION AND CONFLICT MANAGEMENT SKILLS

OVERVIEW:

At times in our work we have to negotiate our needs in challenging situations, perhaps communicating with people who do not share our values and beliefs or behave in a different way to ourselves. This course has been designed to explore the principles of effective communication, negotiation and conflict management and to develop some sustainable behaviours which will last you through life.

Negotiation skills are essential for achieving our objectives without compromising the views or opinions of the other person(s). Although conflict is sometimes inevitable, fighting is always a choice – we will explore ways of keeping cool in conflict situations and achieving our goals whilst retaining our dignity and self-respect.
